TOOLS FOR HUMAN RESOURCES PROS

This month’s offerings include a valuable 150-page sample Employee Handbook, a clearly organized manual for communicating your organization’s benefits and personnel policies to your employees.  Although the Handbook must be tailored to your specific programs, it is more detailed than just a template.  Customizing the Handbook will lead you through a review of your organization’s policies and procedures, focusing your attention on compliance and communication considerations which might be overlooked otherwise.  The ‘Employee Handbook Quiz’ can be distributed along with the Handbook; using the ‘Key’, evaluating returned Quizzes allows you to gauge employee understanding of its contents.

In addition to the pieces noted here, be sure to review the state-specific tools on employee retention in the following section, ‘State Employment Law Updates’.
